
Take a look at the tempting box of treats that will be surfacing on the Premium Horror Streamer SHUDDER in August
With the U.K. now basking in hot summer sunshine, Shudder continues to add exciting horror content to our watchlist. Despite the cinematic onslaught of Barbenheimer, the premium horror streaming service has been on hand to keep us entertained with more chilling fare. And today, the streamer has shared a list of titles that will be available on the service for August. This month’s content may not be plentiful, but it is enough to make us want to hide behind the sofa and remind us why it’s never safe to help out a young stranger!
NEW RELEASES
On the 11th, the month begins with the thriller The Communion Girl. The movie follows a pair of teens who go out one night to a nightclub. But on the way home they come upon a little girl holding a doll, dressed for her first communion. And a chilling nightmare begins! Then on the 18th, the new releases culminate in Bad Things. This weekend getaway horror will send chills down the spine when long-deceased guests come back from the grave to terrorize a snowy holiday resort. Starring Barbie‘s Hari Nef, and Glow’s Gayle Rankin, this is one horror movie you won’t want to miss.
But don’t take my word for it. Get ready to hold onto the arm of your chair, scoot to the edge of your seat, and clutch onto your cushions, because Shudder’s horror watchlist for August is packed with spine-tingling jump scares that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The Communion Girl – Streaming Exclusively on Shudder
Spain, late 1980s. Newcomer Sara (Carla Campra) tries to fit in with the other teens in this tight-knit small town in the province of Tarrgona. If only she were more like her extroverted best friend, Rebe (Aina Quiñones). They go out one night to a nightclub and on the way home they come upon a little girl holding a doll, dressed for her first communion. And that’s when the nightmare begins. Film Premieres Friday 11 August
Bad Things – Streaming Exclusively on Shudder
A weekend getaway for a few girlfriends at a snowy resort becomes a psychological tailspin and bloody nightmare. Long-deceased guests and the space itself come to life in this haunting thriller. Starring Gayle Rankin (GLOW), Hari Nef (Barbie), Rad Pereira (Betty) and Molly Ringwald (Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club). Film Premieres Friday 18 August

Manfish (1956)
Three deep sea divers get involved in murder while searching for a lost treasure. Streaming 1st of August.
Vampir
A man from London comes to a small remote village in Serbia to look after the cemetery. He starts to have nightmarish visions and suspects the friendly villagers have a more sinister intention for him. Streaming 1st of August.
Amigo
A fiction feature film that brings together psychological thriller and black comedy, bordering on the macabre, all in the form of an intimate drama. Streaming 11th of August.
America Latina
Massimo is a dentist from Latina, happily married with two daughters. One day he goes down to the cellar for housework and finds a girl tied up and gagged, asking for help. Streaming 14th of August.
Come to Daddy
A man in his thirties travels to a remote cabin to reconnect with his estranged father. Streaming 21st of August.
