On the 11th, the month begins with the thriller The Communion Girl. The movie follows a pair of teens who go out one night to a nightclub. But on the way home they come upon a little girl holding a doll, dressed for her first communion. And a chilling nightmare begins! Then on the 18th, the new releases culminate in Bad Things. This weekend getaway horror will send chills down the spine when long-deceased guests come back from the grave to terrorize a snowy holiday resort. Starring Barbie‘s Hari Nef, and Glow’s Gayle Rankin, this is one horror movie you won’t want to miss.

But don’t take my word for it. Get ready to hold onto the arm of your chair, scoot to the edge of your seat, and clutch onto your cushions, because Shudder’s horror watchlist for August is packed with spine-tingling jump scares that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
