The first teaser for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has arrived ahead of tomorrow’s full trailer
20th Century Studios has dropped our first look at KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The upcoming sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes is the fourth installment in the rebooted Apes universe and follows Caesar’s son Cornelius as he builds a new civilization where Apes rule.
The movie is directed by Wes Ball from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison. It promises to be one of the biggest movies of 2024, and with expectations high, the studio has dropped our first teaser ahead of tomorrow’s full trailer reveal. The teaser reveals very little about what we can expect to see. However, it does give us our first glimpse at the Apes civilization. But don’t take my word for it. Swing down to the teaser and hit play.
RELEASE
The trailer appears to show Cornelius (Owen Teague) and his hunting companion, a huge bird of prey. And together they navigate their newly won freedom and find their place in the new world. The Apes civilization was built on the foundations of the “Apes together strong” mantra. One laid down by Caesar himself. But with warring factions veering away from his teachings and human civilization reverting to a feral-like state, the landscape looks very different from where we left off.
How these changes will affect the story remains to be seen. But rest assured, tomorrow’s full trailer promises to lift the lid on the movie and give us our first proper look at the latest Planet of the Apes adventure. And that alone is enough to have us reaching for our warpaint. Even if our civilization has been reclaimed by Mother Nature. Either way, it provides a glimpse into what could happen when the effects of global warming take hold.. And that is a shoo-in to have us booking our tickets in our droves.
