Today, they have unveiled a new Rancor Concept Replica LEGACY Edition Maquette, and it looks stunning.
The new replica brings collectors the original spark of a classic creature from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and is part of Regal’s work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage. These limited edition gems come with a plaque hand-signed by creature sculptor, Phil Tippett. They’re also offering a very special Phil Tippett Legacy Edition which goes beyond a signature edition to provide each owner with a truly unique work-of-art. Their all-new Rancor™ Concept Maquette Replica brings collectors the original spark of a classic creature from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™ and is part of their work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage.
Along with a Signature Edition of just 150 pieces, each of which comes with a plaque hand-signed by creature sculptor, Phil Tippett… they’re also offering a very special Phil Tippett Legacy Edition which goes beyond a signature edition to provide each owner with a truly unique work-of-art. Limited to just 100 pieces, each hand-painted maquette in this unprecedented Legacy Edition will include a premium expanded plaque including a one-of-a-kind Rancor scene sketch, each one dreamed-up and hand-drawn by legendary creature creator Phil Tippett!
This maquette was the first step in designing the classic Rancor creature. With hands-on access to the original film artifact and high resolution 3D scanning, the Regal Robot team crafted a faithful recreation of the concept maquette for this fan-favorite beast from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™.
At approximately 10.75” tall (including the wood display base), each is cast in heavy polyurethane resin. 100% made in the U.S.A., every replica in this edition is meticulously hand painted by the artists in their New York studio, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films!
