Sony Pictures and the official Ghostbusters social media channels have confirmed that the teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel drops tomorrow
Who ya gonna call? The superstars of the supernatural are officially back because the teaser trailer for the GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE sequel is dropping TOMORROW. Sony Pictures and the official Ghostbusters socials confirmed the trailer’s release in another cryptic teaser video. And this one reveals the iconic logo being overwhelmed by ice. Could this mean a cold twist for our proton pack-wearing heroes? Don’t cross the streams and bring about the return of Gozer…again. Scroll down and check out the teaser below.
Today’s confirmation is the culmination of the hints, teases, and breadcrumbs dropped by the studio since Halloween. The smart money was on a big reveal this week, especially after several potential titles came to light. Among them are the two front runners Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Ghostbusters: The New Ice Age. But things really started cooking when the official marketing campaign kicked into high gear on Halloween. The October 31st reveal delivered a play on the franchise’s tagline by quoting “Something strange is coming soon.” While in the most recent post, we were warned that “there’s a chill in the air.” The post was topped off by the image of the iconic logo being overwhelmed by ice.
WHO YA GONNA CALL?
Working under the working title GHOSTBUSTERS: FIREHOUSE, the long-awaited sequel will be the fourth outing for the original superstars of the supernatural. The movie will see the return of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Logan Kim, and Celeste O’Connor who all reprise their respective roles. Joining the cast for this outing are Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind. And finally, returning to the role of Walter Peck for the first time since the original Ghostbusters is screen legend William Atherton.
Ghostbusters: Firehouse arrives in cinemas on March 29, 2024. The film was initially slated to release this December. But sadly, the project was pushed from its release as a result of the SAG-AFTRA strikes.
