We Dare To Dream

We Dare to Dream, directed by BAFTA-Winning and Oscar-Nominated Syrian Director Waad Al-Kateab, to Have a UK Theatrical Release on December 1.

The BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated director Waad Al-Kateab’s (For Sama) latest film, We Dare to Dream, will have its theatrical release in the UK on December 1. At Curzon venues, on Curzon Home Cinema and in select UK cinemas nationwide.

Multi-platinum artist and EGOT recipient John Legend has contributed an original song entitled “Don’t Need to Sleep,”. Which is featured in the film’s trailer, debuting today. Legend, together with Emmy and Tony Award-winning producer Mike Jackson. And Emmy Award-winner Ty Stiklorius, partners of Get Lifted Film Co., join Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie as Executive Producers of We Dare to Dream. Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb, co-founder of Samara and Chairman of Airbnb.org, is a producer on the film. “Don’t Need to Sleep” is an original song written by Oak Felder. We Dare to Dream follows the story of refugee athletes from Iran, Syria, South Sudan and Cameroon who swim, run and fight their way to opportunity and safety in host nations across the world. Capturing gripping personal stories of displacement, resilience and triumph, the film reveals the lives and hopes of refugee athletes training to compete on the world stage, showing the fire and the drive of young people forced to leave their families, homes and countries of birth to build new lives out of nothing.

The film features refugee athletes Anjelina Nadai Lohalith, Cyrille Tchatchet II, Kimia Alizadeh, Saeid Fazloula and Wael Fawaz Al-Farraj. Culminating in their competition at the summer Olympics, their compatriots back home and their new communities in refugee camps watch as these determined young athletes fight for their place in the world. This is their story of heart in the face of adversity, and most of all, hope for a better life.
