The Zone Of Interest is based on the novel of the same name. The UK release date is set for February 2nd, 2024.

A24 has today revealed the release date in the UK of the historical drama The Zone Of Interest. The film is loosely based on the novel of the same name by author Martin Amis. Starring Christian Friedel, and Sandra Huller, the film centers on the Commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss. And his wife Hedwig. Amis didn’t name the characters in his book. But director Jonathan Glazer has framed it around Höss and his wife in his adaptation. Shot on location in Poland and Germany, the film is in the German and Polish languages.

THE PREMISE

The commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig strive to build a dream life for their family. In a house and garden next to the camp.

RUDOLPH HOSS

Rudolph Hoss was a German SS Officer. He was convicted of war crimes for his role in the Holocaust. He was also the longest-serving commandant of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. Höss introduced the pesticide Zyklon B to be used in gas chambers. Where more than a million people were killed. He tested and implemented means to accelerate Hitler’s orders. To systematically exterminate the Jewish population of Nazi-occupied Europe, known as the Final Solution. On 16 April 1947, Höss was hanged at Auschwitz. His was the last public execution in Poland.
