The Hot Toys Green Goblin upgraded suit from Spider-Man: No Way Home is a fantastic figure, and that headsculpt is simply spot on!
The Green Goblin is getting an update with this new figure from Spider-Man: No Way Home! But can it replicate the features of Willem Dafoe and leave our spider-sense tingling? Let’s take a detour to the Spider-Verse and find out.

THE BOX AND ACCESSORIES
The box uses the same design as the other Spider-Man: No Way Home figures. It features a promotional drawing of the character coming out of a mystic arts portal and you have different elements from the villains of the film (one of Doc Ock’s tentacles and the lightning from Electro). The design is elegant. Because this one comes with the glider, the box is quite large.
The Green Goblin comes with almost everything that you need for him. However, the display base only includes a stand for the glider. This means that there is no stand for just the figure. Because of the stand size and the glider with the figure on top of it, it won’t fit in your usual glass display cabinet. What I have is twice the size of an Ikea Detolf, and it doesn’t fit in there. So, I’ll have to display the figure and his glider on top of one of my Marvel displays. Though, if you don’t want to display the Green Goblin on his glider, then it will fit in a glass display cabinet.
DIORAMA DETAILS
Speaking of the stand, it’s a simple one with a promotional drawing of the Green Goblin with a purple background. Then, he has six hands. Two fist hands, two open hands, and two hands to hold the pumpkin bombs. In terms of weapons, he has two pumpkin bombs. Despite the size of these, they still have some fine detail. He also has two pairs of blades to attach to his left forearm. The first pair is when they are deployed and ready to use for action. The other pair is for when he is not using them. He also has his goggles if you want to give him the hood and goggles look.
Finally, you get the glider. Unfortunately, it’s not USB-powered but it uses batteries. Still, it’s nice that they put an LED light-up feature on this one. When you make a Green Goblin figure, you have to include his glider! Hot Toys has done a great job with this one. It’s highly detailed and it’s also articulated, so you can adjust it depending on the pose you choose for the figure. There are straps and a peg-hole for the figure to stand on the glider without falling, Hot Toys planned everything!

THE FIGURE
When they announced the first Green Goblin figure, I pre-ordered that one, still hoping they would release the upgraded suit. So when they announced the upgraded suit I was so happy. But I didn’t need two Green Goblin figures so I canceled my pre-order of the first one. I prefer the upgraded suit because it’s more comic-accurate with the use of the purple and the satchel. Plus, no mask so you get to see Willem Dafoe’s face so that’s a good thing for me!
The suit itself is the same one as the first Green Goblin figure. However, they gave it a damaged look so you can see some purple here and there. On top of that, they added plastic pieces on top of it and some weapons on the forearms. He also has a purple poncho with a hood. Originally it was a sweater but it got damaged during his fight with Spider-Man. I honestly love this look! There is an impressive care for detail. The only problem with this suit is the type of fabric used. This means you have to be careful with posing. But that’s difficult since he comes with the glider and it’s normal that you want to display him with his iconic glider. I will display him with the glider but will try a pose that doesn’t stretch the fabric too much.
The belt and the satchel bag are not made of pleather but instead use plastic, only the strap uses fabric. So that’s one less thing to worry about. However, using both fabric and plastic isn’t exactly the best as you can tell the bag is just a plastic bag. They should have either gone full fabric or full plastic, not a mix of the two.

THE HEADSCULPT
The headsculpt was made by Jang So Young and painted by JC Hong. It’s simply amazing! This looks exactly like Willem Dafoe. And I’m so happy they didn’t give him a neutral facial expression but went with the evil smile. They nailed that expression! This is exactly what we needed with the Green Goblin. And he also has separate rolling eyeballs, this is a must! To move the eyes, you simply have to remove the back of the head, it works with a magnet. The separation between the two parts of the head is not too noticeable, so that’s fine. The head is just one piece, with no separation between the head and the neck so it does look better but the articulation range is limited.
