The musical biopic of the tragic music icon Amy Winehouse, Back To Black is heading our way soon. The film, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson from a screenplay by Matt Greenhalgh, opens in the UK on April 12th. It will be released in the United States on May 17th. Actress Marisa Abela has the daunting task of portraying the late singer on the big screen.
She is joined in the cast by Jack O’Connell as Blake Fielder-Civil. Juliet Cowan as Janis Winehouse, Lesley Manville as Cynthia Winehouse, and Eddie Marsan as Mitch Winehouse. The producers have now unveiled the full trailer for the movie after teasing us with a sneak peek earlier.
PREMISE
The film will delve into the life and career of Winehouse, beginning with her early days in the early 2000s as a North London jazz musician and culminating in her rise to fame as a Grammy-winning singer with hit songs like “Rehab” and “Back to Black”.
Back To Black will sing into cinemas on April 12th in the UK. And On May 17th in the United States.
