Review | Wonka (2023)

This week on The Official Chart, Tom Cruise returns, and we have One Day, leaving Wonka to return to the top spot!

Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE UK TOP TEN

This week, we get two re-entries into the placings. These returnees displace PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, and Meg 2: The Trench to claim spots in the lower half of the chart. And once again, we get a sweet treat at the top of the chart. Time for some more Pure Imagination as we take a look.

WILL THE CHART MEET THE HOLDOVERS?

That is this week’s top ten home entertainment titles. But could we meet The Holdovers next week? The film, starring Paul Giamatti, is now available to rent or buy on PVOD. A curmudgeonly instructor at a New England prep school is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. Eventually, he forms an unlikely bond with one of them — a damaged, brainy troublemaker — and with the school’s head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam.

Can the film make an indelible mark on the top ten placings next week? Time will tell, so until next week…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
