From Curzon, ROBOT DREAMS is an Oscar-nominated, captivating animation from director Pablo Berger (Blancanieves / Snow White, Abracadabra and Torremolinos 73.)Â Â The movie has been nominated for Best Animation Feature at the 2024 Academy Awards, after winning the Best Animated Feature award at the European Film Awards in 2023. The Special Jury Prize at Animation is Film Festival. And the Annecy International Animated Film Festival (where it won the Contrechamp Award award for Best Film) after its debut in Cannes.

THE FILM
It’s a heartfelt story that follows DOG, who lives alone in Manhattan who decides to build himself a robot companion. With striking visuals and a beautiful score, the uplifting tale plays out in 80’s NYC. And explores themes around friendship, loneliness and happiness. One summer night, Dog sadly leaves Robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again?

Big themes yet easily digestible, this is full of film easter eggs. Striking use of colour, jazz drums. And an endlessly cute dog that won’t quit. A great one for a family trip out, dog owners.
