Set in Victorian London, unorthodox scientist Dr Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe) brings a young woman, Bella (Stone), back to life; Bella however craves autonomy and runs away with a lawyer (played by Mark Ruffalo) on a whirlwind adventure across the world.
