This week on The Official Chart, we meet Poor Things and enjoy Thanksgiving, leaving Anyone But You to hold the top spot!
Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE UK TOP TEN
This week, we see three new entries into the top ten. One has been in the chart before but has entered the top ten for the first time. These new arrivals spell the end of The Marvels, Miller’s Girl, and One Life‘s time inside the top ten. But where have these new titles entered into the placings? Let’s find out.
ANYONE BUT YOU HOLDS FIRM AT THE TOP!
Anyone But You holds strong at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart. The Sydney Sweeney-starring rom-com remains victorious for a second week.
THE HUNGER GAMES GETS FED!
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes this week rises to Number 2 following its release on disc. (Read our review here.)
POOR THINGS MAKE A GOOD OPENING!
Our highest new entry this week comes from the offbeat Emma Stone comedy Poor Things, landing straight in at Number 3. Set in Victorian London, unorthodox scientist Dr Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe) brings a young woman, Bella (Stone), back to life; Bella however craves autonomy and runs away with a lawyer (played by Mark Ruffalo) on a whirlwind adventure across the world.
WONKA LOSES FLAVOUR!
Wonka earns another week in the Top 5 at Number 4. (Read our review here.)
DUNE BLOWS UP THE CHART AGAIN!
Dune jumps five places back into the Top 5 at Number 5 following the release of the sequel Dune: Part Two in cinemas. (Read our review here.)
OPPENHEIMER GETS BLOWN OUT!
Oppenheimer also claims another big week in the Top 10 at Number 6.
FANCY A SLICE OF THANKSGIVING?
Holiday horror Thanksgiving enters the Top 10 for the very first time, at Number 7 this week, as it re-enters the chart following its release on disc. It previously peaked at Number 33.
AQUAMAN STILL SINKING!
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom drops two this week to Number 8. (Read our review here.)
WISH STILL REMAINS!
Disney’s Wish earns its sixth consecutive week in the Top 10 at Number 9.
THE CHART GETS DECORATED WITH THE COLOR PURPLE!
Finally, Oscar-nominated coming-of-age period drama The Color Purple makes a Number 10 debut on digital downloads only.
THE PVOD MARKET DELIVERS AGAIN!
And that is this week’s top ten best-selling titles. Yet again, the PVOD market has delivered some big titles this week. The award-winning The Zone Of Interest has become available (Read our review here.) Jodie Comer stars in the suspense-filled The End We Start From. And the new animated movie from Illumination, Migration, has flown onto the PVOD market.
Will one, two, or all of these new offerings make a dent in the top ten placings next week? There’s only one way to find out! So, until next week…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
