The Greatest Story Ever Told will be available this Easter on a Limited Collector’s Edition Mediabook and on DVD from 25 March.
Capelight Pictures and Altitude are excited to announce that a 3-disc Limited Collector’s Edition Mediabook of The Greatest Story Ever Told will be available this Easter from 25th March. The movie will be available on DVD as well.
The mediabook will include a Blu-ray and DVD copy of the film, as well as a bonus Blu-ray and a 24-page booklet with text by Megan Parlow. Special features include “He Walks in Beauty” documentary, “Filmmaker” documentary, alternative scene “Judas Dies” and the Original Theatrical Trailer.

George Stevens, a legendary director known for his works such as “Giant” and “The Diary of Anne Frank,” directed a monumental epic that has been nominated for five Oscars. The film is considered the most elaborate Biblical film ever made and features a top-tier cast even in the supporting roles. Including Max Von Sydow, Charlton Heston, John Wayne, Telly Savallas, Sidney Poitier, José Ferrer, Shelley Winters, Angela Lansbury, Claude Rains and many more.
THE STORY
At the time of Rome’s rule over Judea, Jesus (Max von Sydow) is born in a stable in Bethlehem. As a grown man, he preaches about his father’s kingdom. He personally selects twelve disciples and performs astounding miracles, and the people hail him as the long-awaited Messiah.
Fearing for their position of power, the celebrated saviour is a thorn in the side of the Roman rulers and the Jewish priesthood. They have Jesus persecuted, arrested and sentenced to death on the cross. With his subsequent resurrection and ascension, he proves to humanity his identity as the Son of God.
