Paramount has cast Keanu Reeves to voice Shadow in the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie.
Just days after the film’s first footage debuted at CinemaCon, Paramount Pictures cast Shadow in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3. The film is speeding into cinemas this December, and eager to ensure the movie has even more star power for this outing, the studio has cast KEANU REEVES as Sonic’s dark nemesis.
The post-credit scene of the last film hinted at a dark speedster, but excitement peaked when footage of Shadow battling Sonic was showcased at CinemaCon. The studio recently revealed that they have chosen the famous actor known for his role in the movie John Wick, which will likely excite the fans. It is a common practice in this franchise to surprise the audience by casting unexpected actors for the lead roles. For instance, Jim Carrey played the antagonist, Dr. Robotnik, in both previous installments, and in the latest movie, Idris Elba took on the role of the red Echidna warrior, Knuckles.

KNUCKLES
Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait until December to get a Sonic fix. A new series following Knuckles will premiere on Paramount Plus on April 26th. The six-part series follows Knuckles (Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.

RELEASE
James Marsden reprises his role as Tom Wachowski in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the sheriff of Green Hills. Other cast members returning for the sequel include Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower, Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Tom Butler as Commander Walters, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. The movie will also feature new cast members such as Krysten Ritter, James Wolk, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernández, Jorma Taccone, and Alyla Browne.
