KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Header

The final trailer for Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes shows us Earth 300 years after Caeser. Swinging into Cinemas on May 9th.

Although I don’t want to say too much, last week, Our editor and I attended the UK launch event for the upcoming Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes. At the event, we had a terrific Q&A with director Wes Ball, and actors Owen Teague, Freya Allan and Kevin Durand. The session was held by the film’s ‘Special Consultant’ Andy Serkis. And it was a joy to attend. But, of course, that wasn’t enough. After the Q&A session, we were treated to the first thirty minutes of the film. I can say that the opening is emotional before moving the sequel forward. And into what fans will recognise as a throwback to the original movies from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The film’s release is approaching next week, and anticipation has been building for the final trailer. Today, that trailer was finally released, offering us one last glimpse of the kingdom before the full reveal next week.

PREMISE

Nearly 300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes, ape civilizations have emerged from the oasis to which Caesar led his fellow apes. While humans have regressed into a feral, primitive state. When the ape king Proximus Caesar, armed with weapons forged from lost human technologies, perverts Caesar’s teachings to enslave other clans, the chimpanzee hunter Noa embarks on a harrowing journey alongside a human girl named Mae to determine the future for apes and humans alike.
