KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Header

Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes will be swinging into screens this week. Take a peek at the opening eight minutes of the film!

Just under two weeks ago, our editor Phil Roberts and I attended the UK launch event for the upcoming Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes. After a Q&A session with director Wes Ball and stars Owen Teague, Freya Allan and Kevin Durand. And conducted by ‘Special Consultant’ Andy Serkis, we were shown the first thirty minutes of the film. I can say that from what we saw, the film looks to fit into the franchise perfectly. The elements that we have fallen in love with over the years and especially the last three movies are all in place. I didn’t go into too much detail at the time to avoid spoiling it for those wanting to go in clean.

Thanks to Rotten Tomatoes. In association with Fandango and 20th Century Studios, the first eight minutes of the film have been released online. This is being called an exclusive extended preview. For those not wanting to see or know anything before they see the film, turn back now. For everyone else, take a look at the footage below. Enjoy!

PREMISE

300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes. Ape civilizations have emerged from the oasis to which Caesar led his fellow apes. While humans have regressed into a feral, primitive state. The ape king Proximus Caesar, armed with weapons forged from lost human technologies, perverts Caesar’s teachings to enslave other clans. The chimpanzee hunter Noa embarks on a harrowing journey alongside a human girl named Mae to determine the future for apes and humans alike.

In addition to Owen Teague, Freya Allan, and Kevin Durand, the film features Peter Macon as Raka. William H. Macy as Trevathan, Neil Sandilands as Koro.
