Kevin Costner directs, co-writes and co-produces the epic Western saga Horizon: An American Saga. Chapter 1 rides in on June 28th. Chapter 2 arrives on August 16th.
Kevin Costner returns to the Wild West in the upcoming two-part epic Horizon: An American Saga. The first chapter of the saga rides in on June 28th with the second chapter arriving in town on August 16th. Costner directs, co-writes and co-produces the movies. The cast for the epic includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jeff Fahey, Will Patton, Tatanka Means, Owen Crow Shoe, Ella Hunt, Jamie Campbell Bower and Thomas Haden Church. The film has the look and feel of something special. It also invokes memories of Costner’s superb Oscar-winning epic Dances With Wolves. The new trailer for the film has been released. PREMISE
Explore the lure of the Old West and how it was won. And lost through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, embark on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself. Experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.
THE FUTURE
You would think that having two movies shot back-to-back would be more than enough. Not to Kevin Costner though. The two chapters that we will get to experience this summer are only the first half of what Costner wants to be a four-movie arc. Production of the third film was underway before the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes brought everything to a screeching halt. Now that they are over with, production can get back underway. That’s in addition to Costner’s commitments to the final season of Yellowstone where his character of John Dutton is expected to be killed off. Whether the actor returns or his character dies off-screen isn’t clear as yet.
Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1 opens on June 28th. Chapter 2 will follow on August 16th.
