An Atmospheric New Poster For Batman: Caped Crusader Has Emerged From Gotham

The hotly anticipated new animated series Batman: Caped Crusader starring Hamish Linklater as Batman has dropped a cool new poster.

Holy new poster, Batman! Prime Video has revealed an all-new poster for the upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader animated series. The upcoming highly anticipated television series, developed by the collaborative efforts of J.J. Abrams, Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves, and James Tucker, has generated significant excitement due to its casting of an exceptional ensemble. Although fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the first trailer, the studio has provided a delightful teaser to whet our appetites while we await the main event.

Today, we have been given a thrilling glimpse of the Dark Knight prowling the brooding, darkened alleyways of Gotham City. The new Dark Knight, voiced by Hamish Linklater, is depicted hanging onto a towering Gotham City billboard, illuminated by the striking red neon glow emanating from the lettering. The poster doesn’t reveal much, but it does capture the essence of the 1940s noir era. Take a look below.

THE CAST

In the upcoming series, Hamish Linklater from Midnight Mass will be taking on the role of Batman, while Christina Ricci, known for her role as Wednesday, will be portraying Catwoman. Jamie Chung, famous for her role in Sucker Punch, is set to play Harley Quinn, and Diedrich Bader from Batman: The Brave and the Bold will be portraying Harvey Dent. More roles are yet to be announced for McKenna Grace, Reid Scott, Dane Donohue, Gary Anthony Williams, Jason Watkins, John Dimaggio, Krystal Joy Brown, Michelle C. Bonilla, Eric Morgan Stuart, Tom Kenny, and Minnie Driver.

SYNOPSIS

Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant, and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human—the BATMAN. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.

1940s DARK KNIGHT

Timm has turned the landscape upside down by grounding this series as a 1940s noir detective story. But that’s not all; many of the Dark Knight’s greatest foes will also get a 1940s makeover. Harley Quinn has been reinvented as an Asian American with no ties to the Clown Prince of Crime, The Joker. She will have a new persona for this reimagined era and work as Bruce Wayne’s psychiatrist.

Additionally, Clayface and Catwoman have returned to their classic retro outfits. Catwoman’s purple outfit from the vintage comics has been modernized for a new generation, while classic horror movies inspire Clayface’s traditional look. The Joker and The Penguin will also be making a comeback. With the addition of the film noir visual animation style, fans can look forward to an exceptional series when it premieres on Prime Video this summer.

Batman: Caped Crusader premieres Thursday, August 1, on Prime Video.
