SYNOPSIS
Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant, and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human—the BATMAN. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.

1940s DARK KNIGHT
Timm has turned the landscape upside down by grounding this series as a 1940s noir detective story. But that’s not all; many of the Dark Knight’s greatest foes will also get a 1940s makeover. Harley Quinn has been reinvented as an Asian American with no ties to the Clown Prince of Crime, The Joker. She will have a new persona for this reimagined era and work as Bruce Wayne’s psychiatrist.
Additionally, Clayface and Catwoman have returned to their classic retro outfits. Catwoman’s purple outfit from the vintage comics has been updated for a new generation, and classic horror movies inspire Clayface’s traditional look. The Joker and The Penguin will also be making a comeback. With the addition of the film noir visual animation style, fans can look forward to an exceptional series when it premieres on Prime Video this summer.
Batman: Caped Crusader premieres Thursday, August 1, on Prime Video.
