Joaquin Phoenix returns as the clown prince of crime with Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in the new trailer for Joker: Folie A Deux.
Let’s put a smile on that face…again. After Oscar success and critical acclaim for the first movie, Todd Phillips is bringing the clown prince of crime back to the silver screen. This time, he’s not coming alone. Hitting screens on October 4th is the sequel Joker: Folie A Deux. Joaquin Phoenix is returning to his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck / Joker alongside Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, also returning for another bout of violence and mayhem. In the musical psychological thriller, Joaquin Phoenix is accompanied by Lady Gaga, who portrays Dr. Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn.
Steve Coogan, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener have joined the cast in undisclosed roles. Phillips also produces the film as well as writing the screenplay with Scott Silver. The movie is a DC Elseworlds endeavor, set apart from the primary DC cinematic universe, and is not part of the official canon. The expectation is to showcase 15 musical pieces along with some original compositions. Hildur Guðnadóttir has composed the score, returning from her Oscar win for her score for the original movie. The new trailer for the film has been released. Time to give the people what they want!
