James Gunn has unveiled the newly minted DC Studios logo at San Diego Comic-Con.
James Gunn has finally unveiled our first look at the newly minted DC Studios logo. The retro logo is based on the classic Milton Glaser logo, the brand’s primary logo from 1977 to 2005. Gunn revealed the logo via video link at San Diego Comic-Con, where the first trailer for ‘CREATURE COMMANDOS‘ was unveiled. Check out the logo below.

In a subsequent social media post, Gunn added, “When Peter and I formed DC Studios, we immediately knew what logo we wanted to use.”
REBRANDING!
Beginning this October, the retro and nostalgic new logo will be used on all DC comics, toys, and merchandising, as well as all movie and TV projects. The logo will boast an animated representation of Superman, as co-creator Joe Shuster drew, bursting out of chains before the new logo appears.
“We love the simplicity of the MGM lion,” DC Studios co-head Peter Safran added. “It’s timeless, classic. And we thought, ‘What are the elements that we have for something like that?’ And Superman felt like that for DC.“

RELEASE
James Gunn’s upcoming Superman will debut with the new logo and the forthcoming animated “CREATURE COMMANDOS’ project. Thanks to the upcoming release slate, fans might glimpse the logo before “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Exciting times ahead for the DC Universe!
