At Disney’s D23 Expo, Lucasfilm shared new details about Jon Favreau’s upcoming big-screen MandoVerse flick, The Mandalorian And Grogu.
Disney’s D23 Expo is now up and running, and the big reveals are coming thick and fast. Just minutes after dropping the first trailer for STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW, Jon Favreau shocked the attending crowd with our first look at THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU. The upcoming big-screen adventure for Din Djarin and his adorable green bundle of joy is emerging from lightspeed in cinemas in May 2026. But with filming finally underway, the visionary director was on hand to offer some insight into what we can expect from the movie.
Joining Favreau on stage was his long-time collaborator and Lucasfilm stalwart Dave Filoni. Together, the duo unleashed some jaw-dropping new footage from the film. Unfortunately, the footage has not been officially revealed online. But thankfully, we can give you, our readers, an insight into what was shown.

THIS IS THE WAY
The teaser started with an action-packed montage chronicling the adventures of the extraordinary space dad and his adorable green protégé. Din Djarin emphasized the need to make smarter decisions about the risky bounty-hunting gigs he pursues now that he’s responsible for a youngling. The teaser then unveiled the refurbished Razor Crest being flown by none other than Zeb from Star Wars Rebels. Next, we got a glimpse of an ice planet, possibly Hoth, followed by the jaw-dropping reveal of an Imperial Ice Base teeming with Imperial Snow Troopers.
And brace yourself for the climax: Din Djarin riding a Clone Wars-era AT-RT down a snow-drenched mountain, charging into battle against a squadron of Imperial AT-AT Walkers. It’s going to be epic! The footage ended with the reveal of the film’s new logo, which you can check out below.
