Netflix Previews A Colossal Watchlist of Awesomeness For 2024

The new series from acclaimed writer Julie Gearey, Out Of The Dust, has commenced filming in the UK this month.

Netflix UK has announced a new series from writer Julie Gearey (Intergalactic, Cuffs, Prisoners Wives) Out of the Dust. Produced by Double Dutch Productions, part of Banijay UK. “Out of the Dust” is a six-part psychological thriller set within a conservative Christian community. The narrative centres on Rosie, a devoted wife and mother, who embarks on a perilous path of self-liberation and sexual discovery after a chance meeting with Sam, an escaped convict. Filming commenced this month in the UK. The casting for the series has been confirmed, with Molly Windsor, Asa Butterfield, Fra Fee, Siobhan Finneran, and Christopher Eccleston joining the lineup.

SYNOPSIS

Rosie lives with her husband Adam and daughter in a cloistered Christian community. The fateful arrival of escaped prisoner Sam into her life, reveals the reality and restraints of her world. Perhaps this hidden religious community doesn’t have her best interests at heart. And, as the cracks begin to appear in her marriage, Sam presents as her saviour. But with his dark criminal past, where does the greatest danger lie? With the cult or with Sam?
