Is the Hot Toys Clone Commander Scorch figure worth buying? Check out our review of this limited edition Star Wars collectible from The Bad Batch series.
It’s time to reunite with Clone Force 99 and the new Hot Toys Clone Commander Scorch figure. Scorch made his canon debut in the Emmy-award-winning series Star Wars: The Clone Wars before appearing in The Bad Batch. And now, he finally has his own Hot Toys figure! Just like the Imperial Commando, this figure is exclusive and limited to 3,000 pieces. Sideshow Collectibles is in charge of sales for markets outside of Asia and is now shipping pre-orders! But is Scorch worth the investment, or should he be returned to his incubation chamber? Let’s delve into this and find out.

THE BOX
This is your usual Star Wars collectibles box – a black box with the Star Wars logo and a promotional picture of the figure. Figures from The Bad Batch have a red colored strip with two additional pictures. Since this is an exclusive figure, you have a sticker on the box. For people living in Asia, you’ll have the “Hot Toys Exclusive” sticker, while people ordering from Sideshow will have the “Sideshow Exclusive” stickers.
Unfortunately, just like the Imperial Commando, there is a warning sticker about coin batteries right in front of the box for Sideshow customers. This is highly annoying. I honestly thought Sideshow would have found a better place to put that sticker for this one. Of course, you can remove it, but there will always be a bit of glue left on the box.

ACCESSORIES
In terms of accessories, Hot Toys has made the smart choice here. It’s a figure from The Bad Batch, but it includes accessories to recreate his look from The Clone Wars and the Legends video game Republic Commando. However, it doesn’t include all the accessories he has in The Bad Batch. Indeed, it’s missing a DC-15A blaster carbine. That’s the weapon he does use in the second season.
The display base is the usual Star Wars interior base; it’s a simple base that works in every situation. Then, he comes with six hands: two hands to hold the weapons, two open hands, and two different gesture hands. In terms of weapons, he has the classic commando blaster – the DC-17m interchangeable weapon system. We’ve seen it with a few figures now. He also has the DC-15s side arm blaster from the video game. It’s the first time we get this weapon in figure format. It has a nan excellent app and weathering. As usual with clones, you get two thermal detonators – a full one and a half one. You can store them in the backpack. The backpack is a re-use of the Imperial Commando and Hunter, except it’s painted differently. It works with a magnet, and you can also add these two accessories, which give it the Clone Wars and Republic Commando look.

THE FIGURE
It’s basically the same figure as the Imperial Commando, except they fixed the shoulder pads problem and are now accurate. They are bulkier and sit nicely on the shoulder instead of going up. I am glad they fixed the issue for this one. Now, this is the perfect clone commando figure! The black and yellow marks make him standout next to other clones, it’s not a colour pattern other clones have. There’s also some weathering on the figure. He’s been through the Clone Wars, and it’s normal that his armor isn’t all clean. Hopefully, the white clone commando will be announced soon, so we will have the complete commando team from The Bad Batch!
And yes, his helmet has an LED light-up feature. As you can see from the warning sticker, it works with batteries. The light-up feature on the helmet is amazing! Clone Commandos are badass troopers!
