Red One | The First Character Posters Arrive From Santa’s Workshop

The Rock, Chris Evans, and a giant Polar Bear feature on the new character posters for the latest Christmas flick, Red One.
Just weeks after Amazon MGM Studios dropped the first trailer for this year’s big holiday flick, the studio has dropped several new character posters from RED ONE. The movie seems destined to become a new Christmas favorite. With Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans leading the cast, it has more star power than the Nativity Story. What’s more, it looks like it will keep us entertained as we countdown to Christmas, but will The Rock and Chris Evans be able to save the day? Take a look at these festive posters below.
SAVING CHRISTMAS
The movie features Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the Head of Security at the North Pole. He teams up with a notorious bounty hunter, played by Chris Evans, to rescue Santa Claus (J.K. Simmons), who has been abducted by evil forces aiming to ruin Christmas. They face mythical creatures, thugs, and villains along the way, but with cool gadgets, a giant polar bear, and some Marvel-style action, the movie promises to be an absolute blast.
Jake Kasdan, a frequent collaborator of Johnson’s, directs the film. He brings his success from Sony’s Jumanji sequels to this project, and the Black Adam star aims to replicate their joint success. Johnson’s recent box office performance took a hit with the underwhelming return of DC’s Black Adam. However, his partnership with Ryan Reynolds in Red Notice remains one of Netflix’s most successful films.
RELEASE
Judging by the new posters, Red One looks like a blast. Evans and Johnson together are a dynamite team. With Kristofer Hivju of Game of Thrones fame playing Krampus, the film seems to be a new festive classic. Joining Johnson and Evans in the movie is Kiernan Shipka, who plays a monstrous entity from Icelandic folklore, Grýla. Lucy Liu plays the uber-secretive Zoe Harlow and Bonnie Hunt rounds out the cast as Mrs. Claus.
We have a new Christmas classic to add to our yearly watchlist. Red One seems like a sure winner. Especially with its blend of festive fun, over-the-top action, and the chemistry between Johnson and Evans. Following the success of DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE this summer, the buddy team-up genre is thriving, and all eyes are on this film to make a big splash before it hits the streaming platforms.
RED ONE brings the festivities to cinemas on November 6th.
