Today, we proudly announce the most popular movies across the Nordics in 2024. Revealing the Top 10 titles that dominated the weekly Film Hitlist across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The Film Hitlist is compiled from data gathered from major digital retailers. Including Altibox, Amazon Prime Video, the Apple TV app, Blockbuster, Rakuten TV, SF Anytime, Telia and Viaplay Store. It is the definitive, up-to-the-minute guide to what titles are trending in homes across the Nordics. These movies defined the last 12 months for millions of film fans.
AN INTERNATIONAL MIX
A mix of international and local titles across each top 10 highlights the vast breadth of content consumers enjoyed across Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. For local content, AFD Q: DEN GRÆNSELØSE’ is tied for the most appearances on the Danish chart. Which also features four local Danish movies in the Top 5. In Sweden, renowned Swedish TV duo Filip and Fredrik’s documentary ‘DEN SISTA RESAN’ achieved the most #1 spots throughout 2024, highlighting its incredible longevity. The Finnish drama ‘MYRSKYLUODON MAIJA’ performed strongly across the territory, ranking as the 5th top film of 2024. In the Norwegian chart, the dramatic and action-packed ‘KONVOI’ takes third place, with ‘ANYONE BUT YOU’ topping the chart for the most appearances of the year.

INTERNATIONAL FILMS
Looking at international films, the unstoppable power of ‘OPPENHEIMER’ saw a fantastic performance across all regions and dominance in Finland. While the latest instalment of the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence series ‘BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE’ secured a mainstay position within the Weekly Hitlist from its release. Securing a top 6 position in each territory and 12 number one spots across all four regions.
The Film Hitlist features the most popular films that Nordic consumers have bought or rented digitally in the previous week. With a top 10 list and video trailer published every week. All the major film distributors in the Nordics contribute to the chart, including Nordisk Film. NBCUniversal. SF Studios. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Paramount Pictures. The Walt Disney Company, and Warner Bros. Discovery. The chart is published through the Nordic film industry organisation Digital Entertainment Group Nordics (DEGN).
