Look out, MonsterVerse fans, because Dan Stevens is in talks to return for the Godzilla x Kong sequel. He’s gotcha!
Although Adam Wingard has opted out of returning to the MonsterVerse for another Godzilla x Kong adventure, Dan Stevens isn’t afraid to return to Hollow Earth. The new sequel is moving along the assembly line at pace, and although the film is expected to boast a relatively new cast of human characters, good news is coming out of THR. According to the outlet, Stevens is sitting at the negation table with Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures to make a sensational return as Trapper.
Trapper made a fantastic entrance into the MonsterVerse as Kong’s vet and quickly became a fan favorite! He not only crafted a shiny new titanium tooth for the eighth wonder of the world but also played a key role in getting Kong his awesome enhanced gauntlet. Pretty impressive, right?

A NEW DIRECTION
If Stevens decides to sign on the dotted line and make his return official, he’ll be joining the talented Kaitlyn Dever, who was announced just last week! Right now, details about the plot are still a bit of a mystery, known only to a select few at Monarch. But Legendary recently teased that the sequel will feature “several new human characters alongside the beloved and iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.”
Stevens truly had an incredible year last year. He not only captivated audiences as Trapper in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, but he also delivered a chilling performance as Frank in Universal’s vampire slaughter-fest, Abigail. It seems only fitting that Stevens is now aiming to get in the middle of the action between Kong and Godzilla once more. While these Titans are larger than life, Stevens brings enough charisma to hold his own against them. With a new threat looming on the horizon that seeks to enslave the planet, humanity could undoubtedly use all the help it can muster.

RELEASE
This is fantastic news! Dan Stevens really stole the show in Godzilla x Kong, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll bring to the sequel. Trapper was amazing—he’s like the MonsterVerse’s own Crocodile Dundee, winning everyone over with his charming personality. Fans will be thrilled to hear he’s coming back, and I say bring it on!
