The iconic troop transport starfighter of the Rebellion returns in Star Wars: Andor Season 2.
Aside from its thrilling cast of characters and iconic moments, one of the most beloved elements introduced in Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was Cassian Andor’s U-Wing Starfighter. The sleek troop transport played an instrumental role in the film and quickly claimed its place in the pantheon of legendary starships zipping aroud George Lucas’ galaxy far, far away.
Not only did the well-armed swing-wing vessel serve as Cassian and K-2SO’s primary source of transport in the film, but it also played a vital role in deploying Rebel troops on the idyllic deadly beaches of Scarif. And now, the latest teaser for the upcoming second season of Star Wars Andor has revealed that the extraordinary vessel is making a triumphant return.

INTO THE FRAY
The special-look teaser provided an exciting preview of what we can expect from the series, and it looks spectacular. It features the return of Director Orson Krennic, who is overseeing the construction of the dreaded Death Star, as well as Cassian’s return to the Rebel Base on Yavin 4. However, the most thrilling footage might be the scenes of Cassian piloting his trusty U-Wing fighter with K-2SO back at his side.
The reprogrammed Imperial droid didn’t feature in the events of the first season, but all that is about to change in the final season. Spanning a whopping four years in Cassian’s life, the series will finally reveal how he met K-2SO and reprogrammed him to become the sarcastic rebel we know and love. And with the final image of Alan Tudyk in his motion capture suit alongside Diego Luna at the controls of the U-Wing, the series got a welcome boost from the duo’s hijinks.

U-WINGS REPORT IN
The combination of Cassian, K2, and the U-Wing captured the same atmosphere established by Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon in the original trilogy and effortlessly made Gareth Edwards’ epic film all the more exciting. So, fans will be delighted to see the trifecta back in action in Star Wars Andor Season 2 and take the fight to the Empire.
With the Death Star nearing completion and Ben Mendelsohn returning as Director Orson Krennic to oversee its realization, the events of Rogue One have never felt closer. Covering four years told in three-episode arcs, Star Wars Andor Season 2 will bring the war against the Empire to life like never before, and Future of the Force will be here to cover it from every angle.
