Look out, Tomb Raider fans! A new Lara Croft: Tomb Raider skin is finally coming to Fortnite and will be available sooner than you expect!
Heads up, Fortnite fans! Lara Croft is trading her Tomb Raider adventures for the Battle Royale experience. That’s right—Lara Croft is returning to Fortnite with an all-new skin based on her appearance in 2003’s Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, and she’ll be arriving sooner than you might expect. Since her original skin debuted in Chapter 2, Season 6 Battle Pass in early 2021, the character has been locked behind the battle pass paywall. However, thanks to a recent update from our trusted leakers, a new version of Lara Croft will be swinging into action THIS WEEKEND!
The new iteration of the character looks sensational and comes with a host of customization options. Whether you prefer her in shorts, camo-fatigues, jackets, or even sunglasses, the new skin allows you to customize Lara like never before.

TOMB RAIDING IN CHAPTER 6, SEASON 2
Not much is known about the new skin except for some leaked images. But a recent description says it features “a globetrotting archaeologist who loves diving into wild adventures.” Fortnite is also throwing in a new Jeep Wrangler with a cool Tomb Raider skin so players can cruise around the map in style! However, players should expect to part with some serious cash for the character and the vehicle. The set is a premium set, so prepare your wallet in advance.
Lara Croft was the first video game character to join a Fortnite battle pass, and since then, we’ve seen some legendary characters like Solid Snake, Doom Slayer, and Geralt from The Witcher show up, too. Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero is included in the current Chapter 6, Season 2 battle pass. So, when Lara makes a comeback, she’ll get to team up with the ice master himself, and that’s a tag team I cannot wait to see!

RELEASE
This is exceptional news. Lara Croft has now become the latest character previously locked behind the battle pass paywall to receive new skins. Recently, Deadpool & Wolverine returned with new variants of their previous skins, and Iron Man has enjoyed a resurgence with FIVE new versions of the iconic armor. And let’s not forget that Doctor Doom. The iconic villain returned as the baddie of the recent Marvel season and was rewarded with two new skins. So, there is a definite shift in Fortnite’s approach to Battle Pass skins and their exclusivity.
Epic Games has recently announced that Battle Pass skins will now be available in the Item Shop. After a period of exclusivity, of course. Unfortunately, this change only applies to skins starting from Chapter 5: Season 4, meaning many classic OG skins won’t return. However, it’s encouraging to see Epic Games acknowledging new players and allowing them to embrace their favorite characters from various franchises without restrictions.

COMING SOON
What’s more, Epic Games has a bunch of cool collabs lined up for the next few months. Along with new skins and rides from the Fast & Furious movies, they’re also dropping more TMNT and Invincible skins. On top of that, they’re working on partnerships with DC, James Bond 007, Knight Rider, and Mortal Kombat. Looks like Fortnite’s future is shaping up to be super exciting!
The new Fortnite x Lara Croft: Tomb Raider skin is expected in tonight’s item shop.
