The Award-Winning Grand Tour, Coming To MUBI On April 18th, 2025

Written and directed by Miguel Gomes, Winner of Best Director at Cannes 2024, Grand Tour is coming to stream exclusively on MUBI.

MUBI, the global film distributor, streaming service and production company, brings Portuguese director Miguel Gomes’ critically acclaimed Cannes-winner Grand Tour exclusively to MUBI in North America, the UK, Ireland, Latin America, Turkey and India on 18 April 2025.

Winner of Best Director at the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival, Grand Tour was the Portuguese entry to the 2025 Academy-Awards®.

CAST

Starring Gonçalo Waddington. Crista Alfaiate. Cláudio da Silva and Lang Khê Tran. Grand Tour is co-written by Miguel Gomes, Mariana Ricardo, Telmo Churro and Maureen Fazendeiro. Produced by Filipa Reis, the film is shot in China, the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam by three cinematographers. Guo Liang, Rui Poças, and Sayombhu Mukdeeprom.

From Miguel Gomes, the award-winning director of Tabu and Arabian Nights comes a globe-trotting tale of unrequited love. Earning Gomes the Best Director prize at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Grand Tour blends melodrama and screwball comedy in this cat-and-mouse chase between lovers.

THE PREMISE

1917, colonial Burma. Edward, a civil servant for the British Empire, jilts his lovestruck fiancée Molly the day she arrives to be married. As he escapes into an unexpected odyssey across Asia, she quickly follows suit, amused by his moves.

Rendered in stunning black-and-white period visuals interspersed with modern-day documentary footage. Grand Tour, Portugal’s Best International Feature entry to the 97th Academy Awards®, is a dazzling multi-city symphony that will leave audiences reeling with wonder.
