Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE OFFICIAL UK TOP TEN
This week, two new entries and one re-entry into the chart placings are made. This means a sad goodbye to Gladiator II, Marching Powder, and Hop. And we have a new number one title. What could it be? Grab your guitars as we find out.

A COMPLETE UNKNOWN COMPLETELY TAKES THE TOP SPOT!
A Complete Unknown tops this week’s Official Film Chart for the first time. The James Mangold-directed Bob Dylan biopic, starring Timothée Chalamet as a young Dylan, lifts five to the summit, earning a brand-new peak in its seventh week on the chart.

THE CONCLAVE GATHERS AT NUMBER TWO!
Last week’s number one title, Conclave, falls a place this week to become the second-placed title.

BRIDGET JONES IS STILL MAD ABOUT THE BOY!
The final chapter in the franchise, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, has to be content with a third-placed finish this week.

CAPTAIN AMERICA DROPS HIS SHIELD!
The latest chapter in the franchise, Captain America: Brave New World, drops its shield this week, slipping to Number 3.

THE ACCOUNTANT CONTINUES TO ADD UP THE CHART!
With the sequel, The Accountant 2, currently riding high at the box office, the original film, The Accountant, continues to add up, rising three places to Number 5.

TOMBSTONE IS QUICK ON THE DRAW AT NUMBER SIX!
This week’s highest new entry comes courtesy of Tombstone; straight in at Number 6. The classic Western, initially released in the UK in 1994, was directed by George P. Cosmatos and written by Kevin Jarre. Tombstone sees retired police officer Wyatt Earp (played by Kurt Russell) move to Tombstone, Arizona in a bid to settle down in anonymity. But, with a band of outlaws known as The Cowboys causing trouble in the town, it might be time for Earp to reassume his role.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG LOSING PACE AGAIN!
The third film in the enjoyable family movie franchise, Sonic The Hedgehog 3, loses pace this week, slipping back to Number 7.

DOG MAN BARKS HIS WAY INTO THE CHART!
The animated movie, Dog Man, barks its way into the top ten chart this week, becoming a new entry at Number 8.

WICKED IS LOSING ITS SPELL!
The musical, Wicked, loses its spell this week, dropping five places to Number 9.

THE BRUTALIST BRUTALLY RETURNS TO THE CHART!
Finally, The Brutalist makes its Top 10 debut this week, vaulting 28 places to Number 10. The 2024 Brady Corbett-directed drama depicts architect László Toth (Adrien Brody) and his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones) as they flee Europe to America. Offered the American Dream by wealthy client Harrison Van Buren (Guy Pearce), will it all be as it seems?

ALL ABOARD THE SCREAMBOAT!
And that is all there is for the Top Ten for this week. For anyone wanting a good screaming time late at night when the kids are in bed, may I recommend Screamboat? The film sees David Howard Thornton transform from Art the Clown to the tiny terror of New York in this horror that’ll make you shiver the next time you hear a squeak in the night. A group of New Yorkers are on a late-night ferry ride that turns deadly when a mischievous mouse begins a rampage, targeting unsuspecting passengers. The unlikely crew must band together to thwart the murderous menace before their relaxing commute becomes a nightmare.
Look, it isn’t high art by any means. Coming from the people behind the Terrifier franchise, you know what to expect. However, despite what you may think, it is an enjoyable and often hilarious horror movie that is a great way to lose ninety minutes or so. If it appeals to you, buy it on digital download now for £9.99.

Can Steamboat Willie sink the rest of the top ten next week and sail to the top of the chart? Check back next week to find out. So, until then…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
