Star Wars: Starfighter - Shawn Levy Casts Mia Goth Alongside Ryan Gosling

Mia Goth will join the galaxy far, far away to star in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter alongside Ryan Gosling.

It’s been a minute since we heard anything new about Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter. The film was announced to a delighted crowd at Star Wars Celebration earlier in the year. But aside from some shock casting news that saw Anora star Mikey Madison reject Lucasfilm’s ovations, it’s been radio silence from Levy and his team. But that is all about to change.

With the film finally beginning its journey along the assembly line, THR is reporting that Maxxxine star Mia Goth has officially signed on the dotted line. Goth has signed on to star as one of the film’s villains. In fact, she will play the character Madison rejected due to a pay dispute. Although more details about the role are scarce, the report suggests that Goth will be hunting a youngster that Ryan Gosling is charged with protecting.

THE FILM

Mia Goth has joined Ryan Gosling in Star Wars: Starfighter, the feature from director Shawn Levy.

Gosling is leading the new feature project, which is expected to begin production this fall in England. It is scheduled to open May 28, 2027.

Details on the project are scant, but it does involve Gosling playing a character that must protect a young charge against evil pursuers.

Goth will play one of the pursuers. It is the same role that Mikey Madison had been circling before her deal blew up like a Death Star — over money matters.

Levy’s movie is the first of many new projects being developed by Lucasfilm. These include films by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, Taika Waititi, and a new trilogy by Simon Kinberg. Star Wars: Starfighter, on the other hand, is set approximately five years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and now boasts the talents of Ryan Gosling and Mia Goth. Who will be joining the duo in the cockpit next? Only time will tell, but Shawn Levy is moving quickly to cement an all-star cast to bring the adventure home. Exciting times ahead for the Star Wars universe.
