Somewhere over the rainbow, the Witches of Oz are feeling mischievously Wicked. Check out the new character posters and first look featurette for Universal’s enchanting sequel, Wicked For Good.
We are still three months away from the release of Jon M. Chu’s Wicked For Good, and the studio is firing up the hype train to carry us back to Oz. Today, the studio released a new featurette that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the exciting final chapter. In this preview, we get our first glimpse of the origins of the Scarecrow and the Tin Man, as well as the friendship between Glinda and Elphaba. Check it out below.
CHARACTER POSTERS
If that isn’t enough, Universal Pictures cast a spell with two new character posters from the film. The one-sheets showcase Glinda, the good witch of the North, and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, as their friendship endures the ultimate test. But as we all know, they now reside on opposing sides, and with Elphaba now being hunted, there is no going back for either of them. Take a look.

SYNOPSIS
After challenging the Wizard’s totalitarian regime in Oz, Elphaba must grapple with her identity as the “Wicked Witch of the West”. Meanwhile, the Wizard has given Glinda the title “Glinda the Good” and a public status as the nation’s defender against Elphaba. The two witches must make decisions that seal their fates in this second musical installment.

CAST & CREW
Director Jon M. Chu has assembled a fantastic cast to bring this magical sequel to the screen. The cast includes Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh as Shiz University’s regal headmistress Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz. Rounding out the cast are Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, and Marissa Bode in her feature-film debut.

In my review of the first film, I said: “Jon M. Chu’s Wicked is a dazzling visual spectacle that works wonders with its material but falls short of brilliance. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande-Butera deliver powerhouse performances that overcome some truly eye-rolling dialogue to whisk us back to Oz with a musical blast. The cinematography is breathtaking, the score is superb, and the musical numbers are flawless. However, fans of the original movie will be put off by the narrative changes that cast an unfavorable light on some of the IP’s legacy characters.” Read my full review here.
RELEASE
The sequel seems like a spectacular musical extravaganza that will transport us back to the enchanting land of Oz. Judging by the poster’s stunning designs, we eagerly anticipate the journey down the Yellow Brick Road and immersing ourselves in the magic of Oz once more. Whether it’s Wicked or not is beside the point!
Wicked For Good will sprinkle UK cinemas with magic on November 21, 2025.
