Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Erin Kellyman return in the sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Tower. The trailer is here.
Fear is the new faith. That is the tagline for the upcoming horror sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. The film is the fourth in the long-running franchise, following on from this summer’s 28 Years Later. The film is scheduled for release on January 16th. Once again, Ralph Fiennes appears as Dr Ian Kelson, a former doctor and survivor of the outbreak. Joining him in the cast are the returning Alfie Williams as Spike, Jack O’Connell as Sir Jimmy Crystal, Erin Kellyman as Jimmy Ink, Chi Lewis-Parry as “Samson”, Emma Laird as Jimmima, and Maura Bird as Jimmy Jones.
It is also said that Cillian Murphy will appear in the film, returning to his role as Jim from the original film. In addition, the film MAY feature Aaron Taylor-Johnson returning as Jamie. This is despite the actor casting doubt about appearing in the film in comments back in December of 2024. However, the actor did reveal that “we did one and two back to back”. The first trailer for the film has loomed large after its release earlier today.
THE PREMISE
Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Years Later – but turning that world on its head – Nia DaCosta directs 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival – the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.
