Michael Socha, Callum Scott Howells, Annes Elwy, and Emmy-nominated Christine Tremarco lead an all-star ensemble. They are starring as filming for Deadpoint begins.
Today, Channel 4 announces Deadpoint. This is a nerve-shredding 5 x 60’ action thriller. It follows a group of Welsh climbers who encounter a far-right faction. They plot a violent act in their local mountains.
Produced by the multi-BAFTA and Emmy award-winning Clerkenwell Films (Baby Reindeer, The End of the F***ing World, Misfits). Deadpoint is written and created by debut writer Matt Hartley and led by director Marco Kreuzpaintner (The Lazarus Project, Bodies, Those About to Die). Further episodes are directed by Laura Scrivano (The Lazarus Project, Wedding Season, Alice). Filming has now begun in Wales.

PREMISE
In the stunning yet unforgiving landscape of Eryri National Park, a close-knit community of climbers grapples with the aftermath of a tragic accident during a mountaineering expedition. The group struggles with their grief. Aaron (played by Callum Scott-Howells from “It’s a Sin” and “The Beautiful Game”) takes the blame for the accident. He feels responsible for what happened. Consequently, he abandons his hometown, to the fury of his sister Seren (Annes Elwy–Wolf, Little Women).
After a year abroad, he returns home and must confront his intense fear of climbing when Seren doesn’t come back from a routine climb. He sets off in search of her, facing the mountains for the first time since the tragedy, unaware that an extremist far-right group – the self-proclaimed Justice Crusade, led by the charismatic but unstable former soldier Fairweather (Michael Socha – The Gallows Pole, Showtrial) are also on their own mission in the mountains.

THE JUSTICE CRUSADE
A disparate group of individuals, the Justice Crusade are united by their beliefs and their mutual need for belonging. However, as Fairweather reveals his plans, fractures begin to appear. This makes them even more volatile and dangerous.
Meanwhile, senior Detective Natasha Evermore (Christine Tremarco – Adolescence, The Gathering) is making her own way to the Welsh mountains. She’s been following Fairweather’s group for some time. Natasha is concerned by their recent activity, convinced it could be building to something big.
As these disparate stories converge on this remote landscape, a unique thriller emerges, exploring themes of loss, radicalisation and survival. A wilderness thriller wrapped around an emotional core, DEADPOINT is a literal cliffhanger, grounded in the tensions existing in our society today, exploring who we are, who we pretend to be, and what we do when the rope snaps.
