Emblem Pictures Announces That Desperate Journey Will Be In UK Cinemas On November 28th.

Annabel Jankel directs Desperate Journey, a film presented by Emblem Pictures, which is based on a true story. It is coming to UK cinemas.

Emblem Pictures today launched the trailer and key artwork for its debut feature, Desperate Journey. This marks the company’s entry into UK film distribution. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Annabel Jankel directs the film (Tell It to the Bees). Michael Radford, a two-time Academy Award nominee and BAFTA winner for his work on Il Postino, wrote it.

“Based on a true story, *Desperate Journey* takes viewers on a thrilling ride through the burlesque world of 1940s Paris. The film stars rising talent Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen alongside Clara Rugaard from *I Am Mother*, Til Schweiger from *Inglourious Basterds*, and Steven Berkoff, known for *A Clockwork Orange*.”

PREMISE

As the Nazis invade, Freddie Knoller flees Vienna and finds himself stranded in Paris, broke and in desperate need of identification papers. To survive, he takes a job at a notorious burlesque club frequented by high-ranking Nazis. Amidst this glamorous yet dangerous environment, he falls for the lead showgirl and gets caught up in a series of events that will alter the course of his life forever.

THE SCORE

Jon Harris, an Academy Award nominee for “127 Hours,” edited the film. Ilan Eshkeri, a BAFTA and Emmy nominee recognised for his work on “Stardust,” actively composed the original score and recorded it with a full orchestra. Richard Pryke, an Academy Award winner for “Slumdog Millionaire,” mixed the film’s sound for theatrical release using Dolby Atmos technology.

Sony Music will release the Desperate Journey original motion picture soundtrack in November 2025.

Desperate Journey opens exclusively in cinemas nationwide on November 28th.
