Oscar-nominated filmmaker Noah Baumbach is teaming up with George Clooney and Adam Sandler for Jay Kelly, a new, heartbreaking comedy coming to Netflix this fall. The film will open in cinemas on November 14th before streaming on Netflix on December 5th.
Baumbach previously wrote and directed The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), Marriage Story, and White Noise for Netflix. His prior work includes The Squid and the Whale, Greenberg, Margot at the Wedding, Frances Ha, and Mistress America. He also co-wrote the Oscar-nominated script for Barbie. Jay Kelly is co-written by actor Emily Mortimer (who previously wrote episodes of Doll & Em and The Pursuit of Love and will also appear in the film) and produced by David Heyman and Amy Pascal. The official trailer for the film has been revealed.

JAY KELLY, the new film from Academy Award nominee Noah Baumbach, follows famous movie actor, Jay Kelly (George Clooney), as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting both his past and present, accompanied by his devoted manager Ron (Adam Sandler). Poignant and humour-filled, epic and intimate, JAY KELLY is pitched at the intersection of life’s regrets and notable glories.

Jay Kelly stars Oscar-winning George Clooney, who most recently starred in Ticket to Paradise and The Midnight Sky (which he also directed). He can currently be seen on Broadway in his Tony-nominated performance in Good Night, and Good Luck. You might also recognise him from (deep breath) Ocean’s Eleven. Michael Clayton. The film co-stars Adam Sandler, the prolific comedian and actor who will star in the much-anticipated Happy Gilmore 2 this July. Sandler moves from comedy to drama with ease, which is evident in his work in Hustle, Uncut Gems, Meyerowitz Stories, Punch-Drunk Love, and Murder Mystery, among others.
