The Sea of Monsters awaits as the Fortnite x Percy Jackson: Siege of Monsters collaboration is unleashed…and very soon!
Look out, Percy Jackson fans, because the Siege of Monsters is coming to Fortnite. With the second season of the hit show just days away from releasing on Disney+, Epic Games has created an all-new Percy Jackson-inspired island for players to enjoy. That’s right, Camp Half Blood is coming to Fortnite, and Percy, Annabeth, and Grover are bringing their Demigod skills to the map – and it all kicks off on December 9th!
Revealed last night at CCXP25 in Brazil, Percy Jackson: Siege of Monsters will allow players to “embark on an authentic Percy Jackson adventure across an island map inspired by Camp Half-Blood – the earthly sanctuary and training facility for the children of mortals and Greek gods. As newly arrived demigods, players must discover the identity of their godly parent, gain new divine powers, and ally with their fellow demigods for a climactic battle against Scylla and Charybdis on the Sea of Monsters.”
SIEGE OF MONSTERS
In Siege of Monsters, players will be able to meet various characters from the popular stories, including Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood, and “complete multiple side quests” and other activities “inspired by the first two seasons of the show.”
Dan Shotz, the Series Executive Producer and Co-showrunner, presented a sneak peek of the Fortnite island at CCXP. He mentioned that incorporating Percy Jackson into the game involved many moving pieces. While chatting with the team at IGN, he said: “We have worked directly with Disney to build an entire world within Fortnite,” Shotz says. “You’re going to get to see incredible monsters. You get to fight the Minotaur, you get to have a boss battle with Scylla and Charybdis, and you also get to hang out with the gang from Percy Jackson. It’s pretty epic.” Check out the first teaser below.
THE CAST
Leah Sava Jeffries, who portrays Annabeth, said, “This is making me want to go back and play it again,” Jeffries says. “I have been waiting for this for so long, and now I really feel like this is our moment.”
Walker Scobell, who plays Percy on the show, added, “I’m just excited to be the guy from Fortnite,” says Scobell. “That’s what I want people to call me. If that’s the only thing I’m ever remembered for, I’m fine with that. Percy Jackson? No, he’s the guy from Fortnite.”
CAMP HALF BLOOD
As a daily Fortnite player, I’m really excited about this collaboration! Percy Jackson is one of my favorite franchises, and the idea of battling a Minotaur and a giant sea creature is really enticing. With the second season set to release on Disney+ in just a few days, this collaboration is perfectly timed and will undoubtedly draw many fans to the new map.
Having seen the first four episodes from the new season, fans are in for a thrilling rollercoaster ride. In my reactions, I said: “I’ve seen the first four episodes of Percy Jackson S2, and the show is back with a mythological bang. Although there a some minor niggles holding the enjoyment back, the action, spectacle and production design continues to impress. RELEASE
So, whether you’re looking forward to a trip to Camp Half Blood or battling it out with a Minotaur, the Siege of Monsters Island will be the place to be. So get ready to reunite with Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood as the quest to the Sea of Monsters gets underway.
Sadly, Epic Games hasn’t revealed whether the characters will be available to purchase from the item shop. But with a collaboration this big, we expect the characters to be readily available for purchase in time for the season 2 launch this week!
