Look out, Mario fans, because Nintendo has unveiled an all-new trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Details about the film have been scarce since the first trailer dropped back in November. But with the film’s release just a few short months away, the studio has unleashed a new trailer packed with Mario Bros iconography. Aside from featuring Mario and Luigi using classic fire-flower power, the trailer also reveals the debut of Yoshi. If that isn’t enough, fans of the game will also recognize more familiar faces appearing in the new film. But before we jump into a portal and level up, let’s a watch the trailer below.
THE FILM
The original Mario adventure was a global sensation back in 2023. To date, the film is the fifth-highest-grossing animated film of all time, having hauled in a whopping $1.36 billion at the worldwide box office from its entire lifetime run. So Universal, Illumination, and Nintendo will be hoping for a similar result when they unleash the film in cinemas on April 3, 2026.

CAST & CREW
The sequel will see the return of Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. Additionally, two new notable characters from the Mario universe will be introduced: Bowser Jr. and Princess Rosalina. Rosalina will be voiced by Brie Larson, while Benny Safdie will provide the voice for Bowser Jr.
The film will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, from a screenplay by returning screenwriter Matthew Fogel, with Brian Tyler returning to compose the score.

This is exciting news! The original Super Mario movie was a blast, and its sequel is sure to top our watchlist. After Jack Black’s hilarious performance as Bowser, fans will be eager for more laughs, especially if it includes another catchy song like “Peaches.” Additionally, with Chris Pratt returning as Mario and a substantial budget ensuring impressive production values, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has easily become one of our most anticipated films of 2026.
