BAFTA has announced the nominations for the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards. Did your favourite get a nomination? Find out here.
The awards season is well and truly upon us, and the movies are jockeying for position to be the front-runners at the Oscars in March. This time, it is the turn of BAFTA to come to the table, which, today, announced the nominations for the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, celebrating the very best in film over the past year. A total of 46 films received nominations today. And much like the Oscars, the prime players have come to the fore.
The 11 films with the most nominations are:
14 nominations for One Battle After Another
13 nominations for Sinners
11 nominations for Hamnet and Marty Supreme
Eight nominations for Frankenstein and Sentimental Value
Five nominations for I Swear and Bugonia
Three nominations for The Ballad of Wallis Island, Pillion and F1
There are two nominations each for The Secret Agent, Wicked: For Good and Zootropolis 2.
There is one nomination each for the following movies:

PERFORMANCE AND DIRECTING NOMINATIONS
First-time nominees in the performance categories who have received their first BAFTA Film nomination are: Robert Aramayo, Odessa A’zion, Rose Byrne, Chase Infiniti, Michael B. Jordan, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Stellan Skarsgård, and Teyana Taylor.
Six former and current EE Rising Stars are nominated – Robert Aramayo, Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet, Jacob Elordi, Chase Infiniti and Carey Mulligan.
In the Best Director category, two of the six directors are first-time nominees – Ryan Coogler and Josh Safdie.
Three BAFTA Breakthroughs are nominated: Jessie Buckley, Akinola Davies Jr. and Chase Infiniti.
THE EE RISING STAR AWARD
The EE Rising Star Award nominees were revealed on 14 January, showcasing Archie Madekwe, Chase Infiniti, Miles Caton, Posy Sterling, and Robert Aramayo. Voted for by the British public, this annual award celebrates performers who have demonstrated remarkable talent early in their careers. Voting is now open at ee.co.uk/bafta.

Actors Aimee Lou Wood and David Jonsson announced the nominations via a live broadcast from BAFTA 195 Piccadilly.
The EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony takes place at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London. It will stream live on BBC One and iPlayer, reaching international audiences. This event promises to be an unmissable celebration of both British and global film, hosted by the multi-award-winning actor, writer, producer, and TV host Alan Cumming. Viewers will also be able to find all the essential action from the red carpet, ceremony and beyond across BAFTA’s socials.
