You just can’t keep those Deadites down! And believe me, many people have tried! After forty-five years, and five other films, including the superb Evil Dead Rise, as well as a three-series TV show, they are back to scare the crap out of us once again. Coming on July 10th is the new chapter of the horror franchise, the sixth overall, Evil Dead Burn. Following the death of a mother’s husband, the family comes together in a secluded house. As a result, the gathering becomes a “family reunion from hell.” Members gradually turn into Deadites.
Sébastien Vaniček directs the film, while Florent Bernard and Vaniček himself craft the screenplay. Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi take on the role of producers. The executive producers are Romel Adam, Bruce Campbell, Lee Cronin, and Jose Canas. The cast for the film includes Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Erroll Shand, Maude Davey, George Pullar, and Greta Van Den Bink. The official red band trailer for the film shows us that family is the root of all evil. Beware, extreme violence and frightening scenes abound.
PREMISE
EVIL DEAD BURN unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date, blazing onto big screens with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.
Warner Bros. Pictures releases the film in the United States, while Sony Pictures Releasing International takes charge of international distribution. Director Vaniček collaborates with cinematographer Philip Lozano, production designer Nick Connor, editor Maxime Caro, and costume designer Sarah Voon to bring the film to life.
