Sacha Baron Cohen is livin XXX large with the official trailer and teaser poster for the comedy sequel, Ali G: Who Iz I?
“Is it ‘cos i is black?” No, Ali, it’s because you are back! For many of us, remembering Sacha Baron Cohen’s hilarious alter ego, Ali G, from back in the day brings a smile. Not only did he have his own TV show and appear in Madonna’s music video for “Music,” but he also had his big-screen outing in 2002’s Ali G: Indahouse. The character made a great impression on his big-screen debut, which included the hit song Me Julie by Ali G and Shaggy. We all thought he was gone, confined to history. Well, we were wrong. On October 23rd, the character returns to the screen in Ali G: Who Iz I?
Sacha Baron Cohen directs the film from a screenplay he wrote with Peter Baynham. Dan Swimer, Dan Mazer, and Keisha Zollar, based on the character he created. Unlike the previous entry, this is more in Borat and Bruno territory, filmed like a documentary. The official trailer has arrived. Don’t be a batty boy; watch it below!
THE PREMISE
After twenty years spent “chillin’, tokin’ and bonin’”, Ali G is shocked to discover that his long-term girlfriend, Julie, is 8 months pregnant. Faced with an extra mouth to feed, he gets off his batty and heads to America to reclaim his former glory. But soon encounters adversaries who will ultimately threaten his and his child’s very existence. Sacha Baron Cohen makes his directorial debut with the new film, ALI G: WHO IZ I?. It will hit cinemas on October 23, released by Amazon MGM Studios.
