Studiocanal Announces The 4K Worldwide Debut Of Luc Besson's Historical Epic Joan Of Arc

Starring Milla Jovovich as the title character, Luc Besson’s historical epic, Joan Of Arc, is coming to 4K UHD Steelbook and digital platforms in a new restoration.

Luc Besson’s award-winning JOAN OF ARC – starring Milla Jovovich, John Malkovich, Dustin Hoffman, and Faye Dunaway – makes its 4K UHD worldwide debut on SteelBook and Digital on August 3, with a brand new restoration and striking new artwork by the acclaimed artist Flore Maquin.

Following the highly popular 4K SteelBook releases of Besson’s Leon, Subway, La Femme Nikita, and The Big Blue, StudioCanal presents a collectible, 3-disc edition of his 1999 masterwork. The release includes a full-length making-of and interviews with crew members.

A VISUAL FEAST

With an outstanding cast including Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element), John Malkovich (The Ogre), Dustin Hoffman (The Graduate), and Faye Dunaway (The Three Musketeers), the film is a sumptuous visual feast, with cinematography from Besson regular Thierry Arbogast, and a stirring score by another regular Besson collaborator, Éric Serra (The Fifth Element), both César nominated for their work. Catherine Leterrier won a César for her magnificent costumes, which look absolutely stunning in the new 4K restoration.

Packed with extraordinary, bloody battle scenes and featuring an iconic performance from Jovovich, this is a spectacular account of the life of the sainted warrior, and it has never looked better than in this unmissable, armor-plated UHD SteelBook release.

THE PREMISE

As the decades-long war between France and England continues to rage into the 15th century, a young Joan (Milla Jovovich) experiences a vision – apparently from God – encouraging her to rid France of the English. Years later, she relays her vision to the French King in waiting, Charles VII (John Malkovich), who grants her an army. Joan secures massive victories until she is captured and tried for heresy.
