Masters of the Universe: Daniel Pemberton's Soundtrack Emerges From Castle Grayskull

Get ready to unleash the Power of Grayskull, He-Man fans, because the first track from Daniel Pemberton’s score for Masters of the Universe has emerged from Eternia. The long-awaited live-action version of the classic cartoon is finally releasing in cinemas on June 3, and the expectation is high. With Travis Knight behind the camera, and Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham writing the screenplay, fans have the right to be excited.

To date, the trailers have been packed full of He-Man iconography. From He-Man fighting Skeletor to our first look at Cringer/Battlecat, fans of the franchise have been eating well. But today, we get to up the ante a little further with the first track from Daniel Pemberton’s soundtrack. Titled “Eternia,” Pemberton’s soundtrack sounds like a glorious throwback to Shuki Levy and Haim Saban’s vintage TV soundtrack. But adding an awesome twist is the addition of legendary Queen guitarist, Brian May.  Get your first listen below.

SYNOPSIS

In MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, Director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen in this epic live-action adventure. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.

What a phenomenal first track. Daniel Pemberton delivered a musical masterclass with his work on the Spider-Verse saga, and now he’s back to tackle He-Man. So far, his soundtrack sounds very promising, and with the inclusion of Brian May, the full score could be one of the best soundtracks of all time. But can the soundtrack propel He-Man to the top of the box office? Check back soon for our full review.
