If you were not already obsessed with the green baby alien after watching The Mandalorian and Grogu, you will be!
The Mandalorian and Grogu hits cinemas in only a few days and thanks to Disney Studios UK, I was lucky enough to see the film early! Now, before we get into the details, I want to say how nice it was to watch Star Wars again on the big screen! Can you believe it has been seven years since the last film! I know we’ve filled that gap with Star Wars TV shows, but Star Wars is one of those franchises that excels on the big screen!
Whilst the narrative may have been a little empty, it left me wanting more. There was an incredible standout in the film: Grogu! If you were not obsessed with the Yoda-like, green baby alien already, after watching The Mandalorian and Grogu, you will be!

BABY YODA POWER!
Grogu can be credited with expanding the Star Wars fanbase and increasing the number of female fans. (I personally became a fan the first time I saw Padme’s incredible wardrobe). Despite this, I was starting to feel that Grogu had not developed enough over the three seasons of The Mandalorian. But let me tell you, I found him utterly charming in The Mandalorian and Grogu! There is a level of maturity to him in the film, I mean, he’s still a baby, but you can tell he’s grown older, that he’s been learning from Mando (Pedro Pascal).
Grogu had me laughing, oohing, and awing, and I was not the only one. The whole screening was captivated by the baby Alien. A child was sitting near me in the screening, and it was interesting to hear how they reacted to Grogu. There was no denying that this kid was only there for Grogu; they were obsessed with him. And it made me think, Grogu is Jar Jar Binks, just in different clothing. Bear with me on this one, think about it, Grogu, like Jar Jar, captivates children, draws them into the franchise. I loved Jar Jar as a child, and clearly, children love Grogu today. The only difference between the two characters is that adults like Grogu as well.

A DYNAMIC DUO
The sweet relationship between Mando and Grogu is charming to watch; it really feels like a father-son bond. Despite the limited dialogue between the two because Grogu doesn’t talk, there is real, meaningful communication between the duo. The phrase, ‘deeds not words, ‘ springs to mind and certainly applies here.
So get ready for the cuteness that is Grogu – the most adorable character in the entire universe, who enters his Yoda era in the film.
The Mandalorian and Grogu are in cinemas on the 22nd May, you won’t want to miss it!
