He-Man unleashes the power of Grayskull to battle Skeletor in the final trailer for Masters of the Universe!
By the power of Grayskull! Amazon MGM Studios has released the final trailer for the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie. The upcoming blockbuster had its world premiere this week and generated a lot of excited buzz from US-based critics. Many celebrated its campy tone, while others cited its phenomenal soundtrack. But they were unanimous in their praise of the film’s respect for the lore and its fun, fast-paced storyline. Sounds like a banger, right?
Although we are still a few weeks away from experiencing the film on the biggest screen possible, the final trailer is here to scratch the pre-show itch. The two-minute sizzle reel delivers everything we could want from a trailer. We have new footage of Prince Adam discovering his destiny, reuniting with He-Man’s allies, and of Skeletor and his minions plotting Adam’s demise, as well as BattleCat riding into battle. But perhaps the most poignant part of the trailer is the callbacks and homage to the classic series that brought us to the dance. Unleash the power of Castle Grayskull and watch the trailer below.
SYNOPSIS
After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.

CAST & CREATIVES
The cast of Masters of the Universe features an impressive array of talent. In addition to Nicholas Galitzine and Jared Leto, the film showcases the remarkable performances of Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms (also known as Duncan), and Alison Brie as Skeletor’s loyal second-in-command, Evil-Lyn. Morena Baccarin takes on the role of The Sorceress, while Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson portrays Malcolm, better known as Fisto. The lineup also includes Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops. Rounding out the cast, James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley portray He-Man’s parents, King Randor and Queen Marlena.

RELEASE
What a sensational new trailer. As a lifelong fan of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, the film appears to be everything I’ve ever wanted from a big-screen adaptation. Dolph Lundgren’s 1987 adaptation was a fun blast, but the era’s technology limited its brilliance. But with modern techniques leading the charge and Amazon MGM’s resources sparing no expense, the 2026 adaptation looks set to break the mold and deliver the definitive take on this classic fan-favorite, and that is damn exciting!
The film had been languishing in developmental hell for decades, with a succession of writers and directors attached to bring the project to life. But the project never made it off the ground. Now that the rights have fallen into Amazon MGM Studios’ lap, the film is finally back on track and racing towards release, with Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) directing from a script by Chris Butler, with initial drafts by David Callaham, Aaron & Adam Nee. But will it unleash the power of Grayskull and dominate the box office? Catch our full review soon.
Masters of the Universe will receive a theatrical release in the UK on June 3, 2026, and in the United States on June 5.
