Prime Video has today released first-look images and announced further casting details for the second series of The Assassin, written by award-winning duo Harry and Jack Williams. Two Brothers Pictures (known for The Tourist, Fleabag, and Boat Story) produces it in association with All3Media International. The new cast will join returning cast Keeley Hawes, Freddie Highmore, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Devon Terrell.
NEW CAST MEMBERS
Arnaud Binard (Emily in Paris, Modern Family) joins as Bastien, a charismatic Frenchman whose path crosses with Julie (Keeley Hawes). However, whether this is due to chance or deliberate choice is yet to be determined. Moreover, Natalia Tena (Riot Women, Harry Potter) portrays Inspector Cortez, a sharp Spanish detective whose emotional intelligence and steely ambition command respect. Boris Van Severen (Baptiste, Moresnet) plays Titus, a desperate and conflicted Belgian man driven by resentment and loss. His bid to claim the life he believes he deserves spirals quickly. As a result, he finds himself out of his depth and open to manipulation.
Jacqueline Boatswain (After The Flood, Bridgerton) also joins the cast as Isha Lockwood, a long-time employee of Ezra’s father’s mining empire. Now working under Ezra (Devon Terrell) and frequently clashing with him, Isha finds her perspective shifting. This change occurs when a life-or-death situation means she is forced to go far beyond her job description. Monic Hendrickx (Penoza, Arcadia) plays Louise, a complex figure whose close connection to Julie and Edward has consequences that span both past and present.
Karl-El Santos (Stags, Yo Adicto), Mehdi Regragui (La Unidad Kabul, Los Constructores de la Alhambra), Casimiro Aguza (Sin Límites, In From The Cold), Tony Corvillo (Nowhere, Mano de Hierro), Amin Hamada (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Mallorca Confidencial), and Lolo Herrero (El 47, Return to Las Sabinas) actively contribute to Cortez’s team.
SERIES 2
The second series picks up after Edward (Freddie Highmore) and Julie have returned from a disastrous trip to Berlin, where they find themselves estranged once again following a mysterious fall-out no one
is willing to discuss. Julie’s days as an assassin are far from behind her as she has slipped back to her old ways, whilst navigating something just as perilous… the dating scene. When Edward’s honeymoon with Kayla (Shalom Brune-Franklin) doesn’t go quite as planned, he must reunite with Julie to take on Spain’s corrupt underworld, but can they survive the job and mend the rift that tore them apart?
Filming on The Assassin series 2 is taking place in Malta. In the UK and Ireland, the series will premiere on Prime Video in 2026.
