REVIEW
I was thrilled with Travis Knight’s take on the classic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series. In my FOUR STAR REVIEW, I said: “Travis Knight’s Masters of the Universe is an absolute riot. It’s a nostalgic trip to Eternia wrapped in a campy ’80s fever dream. Although the film doesn’t land on every level, Jared Leto’s superb take on Skeletor makes it a true blast! Daniel Pemberton’s score is initially superb, the color palette is utterly glorious, and the world-building is off the charts. In the end, the film is a true epic in every sense. It’s Flash Gordon meets He-Man, unleashed in an overly long yet extremely faithful adaptation of my childhood series, and that is the highest compliment I can pay.” Read my full review here.

RELEASE
What a phenomenal soundtrack. Daniel Pemberton delivered a musical masterclass with his work on the Spider-Verse saga, and now he’s helped to secure He-Man’s rise to the peak of cinema. Following his outstanding score for Project Hail Mary earlier this year, Pemberton continues to demonstrate why he is one of the most exciting composers working in film today. His ability to blend emotion, scale, and originality is nothing short of extraordinary, and his growing filmography only seems to be getting stronger with each project. If his work throughout 2026 is any indication, whatever comes next is sure to be an exceptional addition to Hollywood soundtrack collection.
Masters of the Universe is unleashing the power of Grayskull in cinemas everywhere now.
