Today, Netflix released the official trailer, key art, and new images for the upcoming comedy series THE HAWK starring Will Ferrell as golf legend Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins and an all-star cast including Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, and Luke Wilson.
This July, get ready for the return of an icon, Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins. The Hawk is an upcoming comedy series created by Will Ferrell. It also stars Ferrell and Molly Shannon. It is set to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, July 16th. The show tells the story of a professional golfer who becomes the face of a controversial new league. This league is competing with the PGA Tour.
As you can see from the teaser, the series looks to be a highly enjoyable and brilliantly comedic one that once again demonstrates the charm and fun of Will Ferrell and his comedic style. It certainly plays to his strengths as a comedian and his writing, and the show could be one that will become a huge success over its ten episodes.
THE PREMISE
Lonnie Hawkins (Will Ferrell), 2004’s number one golfer, struggles on the back nine of his career to recapture his magic. His body says retire, but his heart says he’s not done yet. His ex-wife and his son, Lance, golf’s new golden boy, know he’s through. But with one more major to win to complete golf’s Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to believe he’s anything other than one stroke away from the greatest comeback in golf history.
Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins has been making his rounds – from the World Golf Hall of Fame in Pinehurst, NC, to The Big Apple, making waves in the Hamptons, and surprising fans at the Travelers Championship in Connecticut. Now, after a scorching first leg of the tour, Lonnie heads to the back nine, and his Netflix series THE HAWK climbs the scoreboard on July 16th.

Joining Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon are Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, Chris Parell, Katelyn Tarver, and David Hornsby.
