Studiocanal starts the musical jingle and tells us in the UK that we will all scream for ice cream with the release of the UK green band trailer and poster for Eli Roth’s Ice Cream Man.
Studiocanal, thank you!! For a while, I feared we horror fans in the UK would miss out!! Why am I so thankful and excited? Let me enlighten you. From Eli Roth, director of Cabin Fever, Hostel, and Thanksgiving, comes the deliciously nasty summertime treat ICE CREAM MAN, driving his vintage van of terror into cinemas on 7th August to scare you witless. A truly gory, hilariously nasty shocker, this is Roth at his bad taste best – you’ll never look at a Flake 99 in the same way again! The trailer, released today, can only hint at the mayhem Roth will unleash in cinemas this August.

THE PREMISE
An idyllic summer town descends into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results…As the frozen treats unleash an insatiable hunger in the children who eat them. With each sweet scoop, once-innocent kids transform into gruesome butchers with their sights set on adults.
Starring Ari Millen (Orphan Black) as the sinister dispenser of frozen treats that turn kids into killers, and Charlie Zeltzer as the boy who discovers something is amiss, ICE CREAM MAN will not disappoint horror fans in search of outrageously inappropriate and imaginative kills. Further cast includes Benjamin Byron Davis (Guardians of the Galaxy 3), Karen Cliche (Thanksgiving), Dylan Hawco (Heartland), Sarah Abbott (Black Mirror), Shiloh O’Reilly (Thanksgiving), Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Story (Thanksgiving), and Roth himself.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Along with directing and producing the film, Roth wrote the script with longtime collaborator Noah Belson (Cabin Fever). Media Capital Technologies’ (“MCT”) Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh also produced, alongside Cream Productions’ Kate Harrison. Executive producers include MCT’s Kevin Frakes, Connor DiGregorio, Eli Massillon, and Lorenzo Antonucci, and The Horror Section’s Jon Schnaars and Holly Adams.
Featuring music from the legendary GRAMMY-nominated rapper/actor Snoop Dogg, and executive produced by the GRAMMY award-winning rap icon Nas, ICE CREAM MAN will be released by The Horror Section in the U.S., and STUDIOCANAL’s genre label, Sixth Dimension, will distribute in their territories, including the UK, Germany, France, Benelux, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Studiocanal will release Ice Cream Man in UK and Irish cinemas on August 7th.
