Practical Magic, the beloved 1998 film starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, will be available for purchase on 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 24. The SteelBook will hit the shelves on October 5.
The release will include new bonus content featuring the cast and creative team discussing the film’s legacy. In addition, the newly remastered film will be available ahead of the UK theatrical release. The release of the highly anticipated sequel is upcoming. Practical Magic 2 opens on September 11.
THE PREMISE
In a small, contemporary New England town, for two sisters from a family of witches, falling in love is the trickiest spell of all. However, they struggle to use their gift for magically guiding fate to overcome their family curse. Moreover, the men they fall in love with are doomed to an untimely death!
Based on the book Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman, the film, directed by Griffin Dunne, features an all-star cast including Academy Award Winners Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, and Dianne Wiest, along with Emmy Award Winner Stockard Channing, Goran Visnjic, and Aidan Quinn. Denise Di Novi produced the film, while Robin Swicord, Akiva Goldsman, and Adam Brooks wrote the screenplay, adapting it from Hoffman’s novel. Di Novi Pictures partnered with Fortis Films for this production.
